Interest risk if you skip advance tax
Paying everything with your return in July instead could cost about ₹11,765: ₹6,565 for missed instalments (section 425) + ₹5,200 for paying after March (section 424), at 1% a month.
Quick answer
If your tax after TDS for the year is ₹10,000 or more, pay advance tax in four instalments: 15% by 15 June, 45% by 15 September, 75% by 15 December and 100% by 15 March. If you use presumptive taxation (44ADA/44AD), pay the full amount by 15 March. Missing instalments costs 1% interest per month.
Start with your estimated tax for the whole year (use the Creator Income Tax Calculator if you don't know it) and subtract TDS already deducted or expected.
If what's left is ₹10,000 or more, you must pay advance tax. We split it into the legal instalments with exact dates.
Presumptive taxpayers get one instalment on 15 March.
Add the dates to your calendar with one click so you never miss one. We also show the interest you'd risk by skipping them.
