Short version: we collect as little as we can, we never store your bank statements, and you can delete everything any time.

Kamai (“we”) runs this website and the Money Desk service. For anything about your data, email kkammai026@gmail.com.
| Data | Why | When |
|---|---|---|
| Calculator inputs | To show your result. They stay in your browser and in the page link you choose to share. We don't store them. | Free tools |
| Email address + the result summary | To email you a result or tax-date reminders you asked for. | Only if you tick the consent box |
| Account details (name, email, state, creator/freelancer type, GST status, preferred regime) | To run Money Desk for you. | When you sign up |
| Transactions extracted from your statements (date, description, amount, balance) | To label income and expenses and estimate tax and GST. | When you upload |
| Payment status (plan, expiry) | To give you the features you paid for. Card/UPI details are handled by Razorpay, never by us. | When you upgrade |
| Anonymous usage events (e.g. “tool used”) | To learn which tools help most. No names or emails in events. | Always (no personal data) |
| Analytics and ad-measurement cookies (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel) | Aggregate traffic statistics, and whether a visit came from one of our ads. | Only after you click “Accept” |
When you upload a statement, the file is opened inside your browser (including password-protected PDF and Excel files; the password never leaves your device). Only the extracted rows are sent to our servers. The original file is never uploaded, stored or seen by us.
Most transactions are labelled by simple rules that run on our own server. Rows the rules are not sure about are sent to an AI service (Groq or xAI, whichever Kamai is set up with; its servers are in the United States) so it can pick a category. The AI also powers the “Ask Kamai” chat.
What is sent: the masked bank description of the row (no date), whether it was money in or out, a rough size band (for example “small” or “large”, not the exact amount), and the short description of your work that you wrote in your profile. Before sending, Kamai masks PAN, Aadhaar, card and account numbers, phone numbers, email addresses and IFSC codes. What is never sent: your bank statement file, your password, your name, your exact amounts or your totals. For Ask Kamai, only your question and the figures our code worked out are sent.
The AI only picks labels. Every rupee you see on screen is added up by our own code, not by the AI. You can change any label.
Training: according to the providers' published terms (checked October 2026), Groq does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models, and xAI does not train on API data by default. Both may keep requests for a limited time (up to about 30 days) for security and abuse checks. Their terms can change, so please read theirs too. We keep the resulting labels in your account and a small cache of masked descriptions to avoid asking twice; both are deleted when you delete your account.
We do not sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising.
In line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our providers. Each account can only read its own data, enforced by database security rules and server-side checks. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong, we'll tell affected users and the authorities as required.
Kamai is meant for people 18 and above. If you're under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell logged-in users. See also our terms and disclaimer.
